OBITUARY:
JOHANNA JOHNSON
Johanna P. "Jo" Johnson, 88, of 9419 13 1⁄2 St. W. Rock Island, died Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at her home.  Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline.  Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moline.  Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline.  Memorials may be made to the church.  Johanna Poster was born Feb. 26, 1911, in Rock Island, the daughter of Jacob and Antjee Tjden Poster.  She married Kenneth Johnson March 21, 1929, in Moline.  He died in May 1986.  She retired from John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, in March 1970 after 26 years of service.  She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, the WCS of the church and was active in many organizations of the church.  She was a member of UAW Local 865?, East Moline, president and vice president of Union Retirees for several years and sang with the Happy Mixers.  She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, playing cards and fishing.  Survivors include daughters and a son-in-law, Phyllis and George Mattocks, Arizona, and Barbara Johnson, Rock Island; sons and daughters in-law, Donavon and Janice Johnson, Moline, and Stephen and Marilyn Johnson, Grand Prairie, Texas, nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; four stepgreat-greatgrandchildren; and a sister; Catherine Blakley, Oakland, Calif."
