NEW BOSTON -- Services for Earl Poodle Jacobs, 74; formerly of New Boston (IL), were today in Olin Funeral Home here with burial in New Boston Cemetery (IL).
 
Mr. Jacobs died Tuesday in Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo (IL).
 
He was born in New Boston and he married Emette Brown in 1950 in Rock Island (IL). She died in 1957. Formerly he had farmed.
 
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Garber, of Ohio and Mrs. Nellie Locaci, Chicago, and three brothers, Franklin, Andalusia (IL), Sam, Rock Island (IL), and Wilbur, Davenport (IA)."

"Aledo Times Newspaper-Section 1-Page 11-Column 5; December 4, 1974 EARL JACOBS Funeral services for Earl (Poodle) Jacobs, 74, formerly of New Boston, were held at 1:30 Friday, Nov. 29, in the Olin Funeral Home in New Boston. The Rev. David Eadie, pastor of the New Boston United Methodist Church, officiated and burial was in New Boston Cemetery. Mr. Jacobs died at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, in the Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. A son of Andrew and Mary Anderson Jacobs, he was born March 24, 1900, in New Boston. He attended New Boston schools and in 1950, he married Emette Brown in Rock Island. She died in 1957. He was a farm laborer in the New Boston area until his retirement in 1959, at which time he moved to Aledo. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Garber of Ohio and Mrs. Nellie Locaci of Chicago, and three brothers, Sam of Rock Island, Wilbur of Davenport, and Franklin of Andalusia.
