Lucy E. Schriver

Mrs. Lucy E. Wait of Reynolds will observe her 93rd birthday anniversary tomorrow. Due to the fact that she is convalescing from a stroke suffered about two months ago, there will be no formal celebration. The former Lucy E. Schriver, was born Oct. 31, 1870 in Edgington Township and has spent all her life in this community. She was married in 1888 to Robert P. Wait, owned and operated the Reynolds and Taylor Ridge banks for many years as a private business. When the business become a state bank in 1920, Wait and members of the family continued to operate them. Wait died in 1932. The youngest son, H. Byron Wait of Reynolds, is president of the Reynolds State Bank at present and is the eldest son, R. Cyrus, vice president; a grandson, Norman Wait, is cashier and a daughter, Millicent, who resides with her mother, is a director. Another son, Eugene, is head of the loan department in the Bank of Tokyo, San Francisco, and there is another daughter, Mildred, at home. Mrs. Wait has a sister, Mrs. Mabel Hitt, of Aledo. A daughter and a grandson are deceased. There are five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wait is a member of the Reynolds Methodist Church, Idlewild Chapter 385, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Royal Neighbors of America. Despite her recent illness which kept her hospitalized for nearly eight weeks, she is now at home and making satisfactory recovery.
