Alvin W. Mohr
Alvin Mohr, Past Resident, Succumbs at 62 Alvin W. Mohr, 62, of 1759 Braman Ave., Fort Myers, Fla., died at 12:45 this morning at St. Anthony's Hospital. He was a former Rock Island resident and was visiting here the past week. Funeral services will be at 2:30 Thursday afternoon in the Wheelan Funeral Home with the Rev. Marshall H. Ervin, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 tomorrow afternoon. Mr. Mohr was born March 4, 1908 in El Reno, Okla., the son of George and Mary Haeg Mohr. He came to Rock Island as a child and attended Rock Island schools. He married Beatrice Cunningham May 2, 1937, in Rock Island. He owned and operated the 700 Ranch tavern in Rock Island from 1948 to 1968. He then retired and moved to Florida. Surviving are the widow and one sister, Mrs. Robert Holgate of Rock Island. He was preceded in death by one sister.
MOHR Funeral service for Alvin Mohr, 62, of Fort Myers, Fla., who died Tuesday morning in St. Anthony's Hospital, were held this afternoon at the Wheelan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marshall H. Ervin, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Pallbearers were Earl Foster, Cecil Smiley, Eddwin Chandler, Ollie Magnasun, William Lampson and Bud Martens.
